Reporting from Maui: Day 3

Listening to Hawaiian tv news last night we thought there might be a hurricane. Wrong…it passed, and it was closer to Baja California anyway. When I woke this morning the ocean had higher than usual waves. Well, that didn’t stop us. Off to Ulua Beach. We arrived at 11:45 and as we hit the beach a HUGE SIREN went off. A tsunami siren. We asked the locals and they told us it was a practice tsunami siren that goes off every 1st Monday. Freak-out over.

Low key day, Hawaiian style, with homemade tropical smoothie: pineapple, mango, coconut milk, passionfruit/guava juice, local banana, lime…rum added for happy hour:

Most of the day was passed contemplating the ocean, and all things related. Now, that’s what I call a vacation.
